Results of the AKM Video Meteor Network - October 1999 ====================================================== Since March 1999, a number of video meteor cameras are regularly operated by members of the German 'Arbeitskreis Meteore'. The systems work fully autonomously with the MetRec meteor detection software. Here are the results for October 1999. Even though the first half of the month was hampered poor weather, the month finally became one of the most successful ones so far. Unusual good weather starting on October 13 allowed a good coverage of the Orionid and Taurid activity in the second part of the month. Preliminary results from our video observations of the 1999 Leonid meteor storm will be given with the next monthly activity report. 1.
