Results of the AKM Video Meteor Network - September 2000 ======================================================== September started with mixed weather, after August had brought a number of records for the AKM video observers. Especially in the second part of the month, however, a fine late Summer provided a number of clear observing nights in Germany. Unfortunately the IMC took part just in that time, so that two of our observers could not collect data for several days. On the other hand, Mirko Nitschke reported on the current status of our meteor network at the IMC, and Mihaela Triglav of Slovenia presented an analysis of the Taurids based on data collected with our video systems. Finally, the AKM network has become an international one in September 2000. Ilkka Yrjola of Finland, who provided us already with data from occasional video observations before, has now started with regular night sky monitoring. Due to the high northern latitude of his observing site Kuusankosi he will not be able to observe in Summer, but therefore he had unusual good conditions this September and obtained immediately more observing nights than the AKM observers. The periods of bad skies were fortunately nearly alternating in Germany and Finland, resulting in a >90% coverage of the September nights. In fact, there is a complete series between September 9 and 30 in which there was at least one observation in every night! 1.
